Degree Day Demos
Saturday 16 July 2011
SPEAK supporters were, once again, out in force in Oxford City Centre alerting the thousands of people present of the barbaric experiments being carried out on animals by Oxford University.
Despite the heavy rain, activists stood with banners and placards outside the Sheldonion Theatre as graduating students and their guests entered and left the ceremonies. While some of those attending gave their support to the campaign against the cruel and unnecessary suffering inflicted on living beings by this university, others were blinded by their own selfish desires and couldn’t see beyond their own wants. However, the overwhelming support from tourists and the public prove once again that animal experiments are not seen as acceptable by the majority.
As long as there are animals imprisoned inside Oxford University’s labs, there will be people fighting to free them.
